Sunshine Coast Regional Hospital District (RHD) $1 million contribution to Mossy Rock Hospice

This morning, the Sunshine Coast Regional Hospital District (RHD) approved our request for a $1 million one-time contribution to support the construction of Mossy Rock Hospice. This commitment comes with the condition of the RHD receiving provincial designation of the Hospice as an approved health facility--a request that is now underway.

We are very grateful to the members of the RHD Board and staff for working so diligently to prepare and give thorough consideration to this decision. When the motion was tabled and it came time to vote, it was wonderful to see unanimous director support to fund the project.

Along with the generous donations and pledges received from community members, including many of you, the RHD contribution catapults our campaign much closer to our fundraising goal, and maintains our confidence in completing construction by early 2027.

Discussions with prospective donors continue, and we are preparing to launch a community campaign later this year that will move the project across the finish line.

Today's RHD decision was a big milestone for us, and we are happy to celebrate this success with you!
